Damien Harland || Twenty-One || Chaperone || FC: Rupert Grint || Taken
Bio: Damien was in and out of foster homes since his parents died in a house fire when he was five years old. He was a very outwardly troubled child during his childhood, and could scarcely be tolerated in the households that took him in. Typically his stays would last a couple of weeks to a two months before families felt either threatened by his chaotic behavior or annoyed by his bratty personality. However, at the age of eight he was taken in by a family who lasted five months, only to have Damien taken away from the hands of his abusive foster-father. This scarred Damien for awhile, and he was finally taken in by a tolerating family at the age of twelve. Due to the effects the abusive home had on him, Damien’s personality warped to a much more quiet, frightened one, and he had a difficult time learning to trust his new parents. As high school started, it wasn’t difficult for Damien to get into dangerous crowds and hobbies; he began experimenting with drugs and alcohol early, and by the time he was sixteen he sold drugs both for money and as a hobby. When he turned eighteen, Damien moved out quickly; he continues to speak to his foster parents, but not often.
Once living by himself, Damien continued to live off the money he received from dealing drugs. Around his first few months being on his own, he met Garret, a homeless boy who seemed to take everything one day at a time. Intrigued by this boy’s carefree attitude, the two grew close. Although Garret continues to refuse offers to live with Damien, he stays at Damien’s home often and the two maintain an intimate friendship. A few weeks ago, after Garret had disappeared for a few days without calling, Damien asked around until he discovered Garret was sent to the Las Vegas Institute of Corrections. Without hesitation, Damien applied to be a chaperone, not wanting to have to be separated from his best friend.
Personality: Although he went through several different personality stages as a child, Damien has grown to be a very smooth, charming man. Despite this, he is very introverted and has many acquaintances, but refrains from becoming close friends with anyone beside Garret. When angered, Damien can be merciless, although it is near impossible to make him lose control of his emotions; he is known to be brutal when it comes to clients stealing from him. Damien is also known to be very careless toward others; he enjoys having a good time, but won’t stick around to deal with the consequences. Damien thinks and speaks quickly, and has a very sharp wit that people often don’t expect from him with his high ego and careless attitude. Despite his distant relationship with his foster family, Damien actually cares for them greatly for giving him a few years of reprieve, and is sure to keep an eye out for his foster siblings, Clara, who is fourteen, and Robby, who is sixteen, while he also watches after Garret as well as he can, although the two typically don’t speak to each other about personal issues. Damien can be menacing, harsh, and cruel, but to those on his good side, he is a strong, brave, powerful man who will do anything for those he cares about.
